About the release
Paris-based designer Stan Birch lands his first official Saucony sneaker collab on the Saucony ProGrid Guide 7. Called 'Stand Out', the pair was first previewed at Paris Fashion Week in June and comes wrapped in Birch's signature chromatic palette. Style code S71070-2. Birch has spent years hand-customising sneakers — around 2,000 pairs in his portfolio — and developed his own 'split method' where existing panels and stitching are pulled apart and worked back together differently. This collab translates that thinking through material choice, colour and swappable detailing rather than a fully deconstructed build.
The build stacks cream mesh as the base with an off-white grid overlay, layered with burgundy, gold, green, pink and mint hits. Suede wraps the toe and heel, while nubuck and leather panels add further material variation across the upper. Burgundy anchors most of the midsole, with small pops of gold on the toe and heel. The pair's most distinctive detail — and the one that makes it a proper 'Stand Out' execution — is a Velcro-attached Saucony logo along the side that swaps between a metallic gold and a purple embroidered version. Extra laces, a Stan Birch x Saucony tongue tag, 'STAND OUT' embroidered on the rear lateral side, and a co-branded box with dotted graphics round it out.

Release date and price
The Stan Birch x Saucony ProGrid Guide 7 'Stand Out' releases in the UK on Friday 11 September 2026. The wider global release date was later revised to Monday 21 September 2026 per Saucony updates. UK retail is £140, with US retail at $165. Available in unisex sizing.
Saucony has been on a proper collab run through 2026 — the Endorphin Azura marathon pack, the Westside Gunn 'Awesome God' Grid Jazz 9, and Engineered Garments Shadow Double Velcro releases have all landed in recent months. This Stan Birch pair is the brand's most design-forward customisation collab of the year, and given Birch's specialist reputation among sneaker heads, expect focused demand rather than mass hype.
Design and details
Where most designer-led Saucony collabs stay quite restrained, this is one of the more visually ambitious executions the ProGrid Guide 7 has ever received. The whole shoe is engineered around Birch's 'Stand Out' philosophy — including a genuinely functional customisation element built into the design.
Chromatic material stack
The upper leads with a cream mesh base covered by an off-white grid overlay, then layers burgundy, gold, green, pink and mint accents across different zones. Suede wraps the toe and heel, and nubuck and leather panels add further texture and colour variation across the upper. Despite how much is going on visually, the softer colour palette keeps the different sections tied together rather than fighting each other. The midsole runs burgundy as the anchor with small gold pops on the toe and heel.
Swappable Velcro Saucony logo
The defining feature. A Velcro-attached Saucony logo along the side lets wearers swap between two options — a metallic gold version and a purple embroidered version. It's a proper customisation element built into the design rather than a decorative add-on, and it fits Birch's whole 'Stand Out' philosophy: give the wearer the tools to make the pair theirs. Extra laces are also included in-box for a similar customisation option.
'Stand Out' branding throughout
Birch's philosophy runs through the shoe's smaller detailing. 'STAND OUT' text embroidered on the rear lateral side, a Stan Birch x Saucony tag on the left tongue, and 'Stan Birch' branding stamped on both insoles. A tongue graphic depicts one figure rising above the pack — the shoe's most literal expression of the mantra. The pair also arrives in a co-branded box with a dotted graphic and colours pulled from the sneaker itself.

Stan Birch came into design through sneakers — years of hand-customising individual pairs before expanding into clothing and one-off pieces. His 'split method' — where existing panels and stitching are pulled apart and reworked — has become his signature technique across roughly 2,000 pairs. This Saucony collab doesn't lean fully into the split method (that would be difficult at retail scale) but instead translates his design philosophy into swappable elements, material variation and unmistakable colour work. Jason Faustino, Saucony's senior director of global energy, put the pairing down to Birch's "distinct colour palette" aligning with Saucony's own tradition of colour-forward footwear. This Stan Birch pair sits properly at the specialist end of that programme.

Who is Stan Birch?
Stan Birch is a Paris-based designer who came into the industry through sneaker customisation — around 2,000 hand-customised pairs to his portfolio before expanding into apparel and one-off pieces.
