Nike and JD Sports honour one of British streetwear's deepest city-shoe relationships with a proper Scouse-tribute Air Max 95 — the Nike Air Max 95 'Liverpool' JD Exclusive (style code IX7923-001). Dropping specifically on Thursday 1 October — 1.10 Day, JD's second annual celebration of the AM95's Scouse legacy. Design and details
This isn't a Liverpool-themed pair with the city name slapped on the side. Every detail on the shoe has been sourced from a specific Liverpool cultural reference — from the palette to the outsole print. It's arguably the most locally-referential UK-city sneaker JD and Nike have executed together.
Rust Factor + Steam colour story
The palette is deliberate. Rust Factor takes its cues from the red-brick buildings of Liverpool's historic docklands — the terracotta / warm orange tones you see across the city's waterfront architecture. Steam draws on the city's most recognisable symbol: the Liver Bird, referencing the copper-oxidised green of the statues perched atop the Royal Liver Building. Together, the pair creates a considered 'Mandarin' and 'Fresh Mint' hybrid aesthetic.
