The Chicago born and bred contemporary artist Hebru Brantley is best known for his Afro-Futurism approach to anime and graffiti, creating scenes of fragmented make believe with historical and personal acknowledgments. The artwork featured on all three pieces of the collection showcase Hebru’s iconic Flyboy character standing in a universal position of strength and peaceful defiance. Specifically for the hoodie and t-shirt, Hebru uses a picture from another time of social unrest and divide from generations past, and in his words shows how "the power within us all to stand in defiance of everything that has oppressed us."
